Hit me with your best Shot!

I rarely get sick anymore. I do not have time to get sick, nor do I have days to take off for me, since I lost so many due to my leave last year and constantly have to take them for LL's illnesses.
Well, I started getting sick this weekend and it continued to get worse. It started with my nose basically running water like a faucet, then started building up in my head. It eventually developed into this non-stop cough that was driving me crazy and not giving me any relief. I think that the kids started looking at me yesterday wondering if I was choking on a chicken bone, a smoker, trying to figure out what my problem was.....
SO I left school a little early yesterday and headed to the doc in the box.
They were quite friendly and I got in and out quicker than I had ever expected.
Once the dr looked at me, he kept questioning me about the flu, asking me if I thought that I had it. I told him that I didn't think so, I had never had the flu, but I was hoping that he would be able to tell me what was going on.
He told me that he didn't think that it was the flu at this point, wasn't bacterial, and decided it may be viral (basically, I have no clue)!
He asked if I was opposed to shots and I said no way! He said that he was going to give me a shot, cough syrup, and a z-pack.
I was used to the first and the last treatments since I used to get sinus infections yearly after moving up here from college (something about the air being so different from home)..so I said that I thought that all sounded great.
The nurse soon came in with the shot and asked again if I minded getting a shot, I said no problem, I used to get them all of the time...she said oh--but this is a bad one, possibly one of the worst. I said yeah, the worst part is probably the initial stick for me and then if they sting a little going in, but I will be ok.
While prepping me, she also told me that I would have to be patient w/ getting the cough syrup filled b/c they are starting to see many meth addicts trying to forge prescriptions for it and a lot of times the pharmacy will try to get in touch with the dr first--great! I am hacking up a lung here, but I completely understand why they would take those precautions.
Then she hit me with it. First I felt the stick, jumped a little, then an intense burning went through me, from the top of my hip to the bottom of my leg. She said, "Alright, you are done, lets go get you checked out!" GEEZ LOUISE!!! At that point it really started hurting! I could barely walk on that side and it was quite amuzing trying to get in the car and drive with that leg for the first few minutes. I had NEVER felt a shot like this! In fact, I can't imagine a bullet feeling much worse! Next, time I think that I will keep my mouth shut:)
