Sorry that I never posted yesterday. There are two times in a year that a teacher is in pure survival mode-1) Christmas 2) May.
Kids are bonkers whenever we are about to get out for a vacation---especially Christmas. It seems the more tired we get, the more hyped up they become.
So, needless to say, I have been exhausted! (Also considering the fact that I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off).
So today in Kindergarten world, one class that I work with was making snowmen. 2 funny moments happened out of this craft that I recall:
1) I asked one of my students with Downs Syndrome where his nose was (b/c he had lost his snowman's nose) and what did he do?---pointed to HIS nose--of course!
2) Next, I told another student to draw eyes on her snowman--she asked how many--4?! I told her that I thought he would be able to see just fine out of 2.
This was all after I tried making hand print wreaths with some of my students and the handprints ended up being confetti.
Another one of my students (with Autism) talked all day about going on a trip to the North Pole...(she must have just watched Polar Express)...she kept asking me where my ticket was and if I was going to the North Pole....By the end of the day I almost started looking for that ticket--to get me out of HERE!!!
2 1/2 more days of school...
10 days until Christmas!
