Terrific Tuesday

Have you ever felt like every little thing just wasn't going right one day? I have had one of those days. I call them my Alexander days. This is one of my favorite books to read to my students. It is about a child who has a day where every little thing just doesn't seem to go his way. He complains about everything and wants to just move to Australia so that all of his little problems will just go away. I felt like this today. I felt as though if I could just be a stay at home mom, none of this little problems would exist.

But then I got a reality check. I read a blog about a friend's wife who is dying. Who is trying to talk to her children on the phone, but her voice just doesn't work anymore. Who can barely eat and who is having to get her stomach and liver drained/pumped b/c she can't go to the restroom and is in so much pain. Who doesn't know if she will wake up each time that she goes to sleep, (when she is even able to go to sleep amongst all of the pain that is).
Then I realize something....
I haven't had a terrible, horrible, no good very bad day. I am fortunate to even have a day like today. In fact, now that I think about it, it may not have been the best of days, but it was actually a pretty terrific day!
