It's Fun to be One!!

We had a great day celebrating LL's 1st birthday yesterday! She slept in until 9:17 (we thought that she might be waiting until 9:27 to make her grand appearance like she did last year). After getting LL ready, I decided to take her 12 month photo in the brown chair-boy was it a challenge!!

Then we headed to our favorite place--the zoo!! We made the day extra special by letting her ride the carousel and the train (a first and she loved it!)






After that, we went to one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. LL loved the quesadilla!
Then we headed back home in our new big girl seat-boy was she exhausted!

Once we were home, LL took a nap and then we surprised her with her birthday gift from us (notice that she also wore one of her new pairs of shoes today):

After dinner, we sang "Happy Birthday" to LL and let her have a piece of cake. She grabbed it with both hands before we could even put it on her tray--this girl loves cake!
Today we are getting ready for the final party--I hope everything goes well!
