Memorial Day Weekend

We had a busy but fun Memorial Day Weekend this year.
I finished up everything at school on Friday, had lunch with some wonderful co-workers and friends, and then packed up and headed south. We were able to arrive at a very decent time, so we headed to dinner at a new local favorite. This restaurant has delicious seafood and is located on the water, so it has a beautiful view of sunsets that we were able to enjoy before eating.
On Saturday, the mister and I headed to the local outlets to hit up the Memorial Day sales. I scored some great deals and the poor mister had to chase LL around (obviously he did not know the #1 shopping rule of NEVER take her out of her stroller). That evening, some great friends came over for a shrimp boil-YUMMO!!
On Sunday, we loaded up and headed to New Orleans for the day. LL was able to experience Cafe Du Monde, the Riverwalk, Lousiana's Children's Museum, the French Quarter, and some yummy food! We would have loved to have done more, but we ran out of time and were exhausted by the end of the day.
Here are some pictures from breakfast and the children's museum. The kid-sized grocery store and cafe is the cutest thing ever!! They have not missed a single detail to make it realistic!
Yummy, but messy!

Grocery shopping....loading up on the good stuff!

Clean up, clean up!

Would you like for me to check your eyes? (although I am sitting in the patient's chair)

Welcome to LL's cafe! May I take your order?

Riding the "trolley"....Where's LL?

Yesterday, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with my dear friend and her little sweet Emme. I can not wait to try out some of those yummy recipes! We relaxed some and then loaded up and headed home. Last night, we decided to take advantage of the pool and enjoyed the first dip of the season.

Our first official day of summer (today) has been filled with tearing up the house ( I am determined to teach her how to clean up this summer), going to the pool again, and running several errands. I am so fortunate to have a job that allows me to fully enjoy the summer and can not wait to see what the next several weeks entail!
