Mother's Day

Mother's Day for me has taken on a whole new meaning. Not only is a a day in which I celebrate my mother, it is now a day where I am able to celebrate being a mother. My live is forever changed and it is SO much better. I can't wait to spend my Mother's Day with my little one!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day whether you are celebrating being a mother or having a mother.

I also would like to lift all of those up in prayer who have lost a mother, a child, or so desire to be a mother.

Happy Mother's Day to all, no matter what the reason for celebrating!

Better Late Than Never

We are a last minute kind of family. I must say that I get it honestly. So, even though LL is officially 19 months old now, we met a friend for some 18 month pics today. I can not wait to see how they turned out! This is a friend who I used to work with and who will hopefully be coming back next year to teach again with us. She also took some of LL's boyfriend with his family AND some of the two little love birds together. They were SO cute interacting with one another in their matching outfits.

Afterwards, we decided to meet the mister at Moes to continue our Cinco de Mayo celebration. I was supposed to go to Bible Study tonight, however, I knew that I wouldn't make it seeing as though we were still heading home from our photo shoot at 6 something and it started at 630. I was a little bummed that this was the first Bible Study of the series that I had missed. Hopefully, I will be able to make it to the next one!

I hope that everyone had a great Cinco de Mayo and happy hump day! Thank goodness that this week is almost over! Only 16 more days!

Cinco de Mayo

It seems as though I have gotten an early start on the Cinco de Mayo celebration! I have had Mexican food, which I love sans the beans, for the past 3 nights in a row! Tonight just so happened to be at my all time favorite Mexican restaurant! You just can't beat their queso dip OR their yummy grilled chicken quesadillas and since it is 30 minutes away, I am not able to eat there as often as I would like! I am sure that I will have some type of Mexican food tomorrow night too considering that it IS Cinco de Mayo.
Luckily, LL has decided that she likes Mexican food too, so it is a win/win situation for both of us!

I am still on cloud nine about our Disney trip. I am like a kid waiting for Christmas! While we only have 17 more days left of school (thank goodness), now I am about to turn my focus to the Disney countdown!!!

(Sorry that this is a pointless post...I attended a meeting tonight and was unable to pick LL up from school, so my evening was pretty uneventful)!

The Wedding and Pics

We really enjoyed being able to have time with friends last night and celebrate the wedding of some friends. The rain stayed away and it was the perfect evening for a wedding.
LL enjoyed the night w/ her aunt and aunt's boyfriend. Here are some pics that I stole from her--Looks like they had some fun!:

*Please continue to pray that the oil spill situation is able to be resolved somehow and for the people effected by the floods in Nashville.

Success!

Today, LL and I headed back out to continue the dress mission. I was quite puzzled when I pulled up to Belk shortly after 10 (which is when I thought that they opended), only to see the parking lot full and people coming out of there w/ more bags that they could carry!
I ran in knowing that some great sale must be going on. Sure enough, they were having one of their morning Charity events. I hurried to the dress department and actually found SEVERAL winners. However, I had to make a quick decision b/c the sale ended at 11. I walked out w/ 2 dresses. Although they were not as deeply discounted as others that I had picked up (I got confused which one was what discounted price since I had 10-12 all from different racks-and didn't have time to run around and figure it out since I only had 4 minutes to spare by the time I got up to the cashier), I am still very pleased with the two that I had found--would have LOVED for them to have been even cheaper-but pleased nonetheless.

After that, LL headed to do some grocery shopping. In between 2 stores, we spent $88 and saved $62. Not bad (and if is wasn't for the not-on-sale-didn't-have-a-coupon diapers that we had to have, we would have broken even).
So now, LL is down for the count and I am exhausted and need to rest up before the wedding tonight (really I need to clean my house before the babysitters a.k.a LL's aunt and her other half, but resting sounds SOO much better!)

***Please give some thoughts and prayers to the oil spill in the Gulf. That is my home away from home and it makes me sick to think about it.****

Shopping on a Mission

Yesterday after school, instead of heading to the park, LL and I set out to do our other favorite thing together---SHOP! I was on a mission to find a dress to wear to the wedding tonight (last minute as always). Of course I had researched online over the past few days before heading out and had found several potentials. However, once there and after trying on about 40 dresses, I came home empty handed. I might set out again this morning to see if I can find something to wear at another local mall, or just wear one of the same old dresses that I have worn to every wedding that I have attended in the past 5+ years. I typically wouldn't mind doing so, however considering that the same group of friends have been at almost every single one of those weddings, they are probably starting to feel sorry for me and the same old two black dresses that I have worn to all of them. Plus, we have at least 5 weddings over the next couple of months to attend, so I figured that I would get great wear out of whatever I find!

We ended our evening w/ a trip to Johnny Rockets---LL LOVED it!
